This is Britney Jean Spears. Britney was born on December 2, 1981. Britney started walking, a few years later she started dancing lessons. She was dancing ballet, and tap. Britney's favorite events in gymnastics were floor exercise (she had real dance skills). Another one was the uneven bars. At a young age Britney had a schedule. Britney said it was grueling. Britney quit gymnastics to go to her first love, dancing. At the age nine, Britney added singing to her schedule. Britney started dance competitions at the age of ten. Britney's specialty became jazz lyrical dancing. At the age of eleven Britney was in commercials. Also when she was eleven she was in a show called the Mickey Mouse Club for two years. After the show was cancled, she returned to her hometown Kentwood, Louisiana. At the age of fifteen, Britney got the opportunity to audition for an all-girl singing group. Britney enjoyed the experience, but decided she was better suited to being a solo performer. Britney made an audition tape and got a recording contract with Jive Records. Before her first album she had thousands of people becoming huge fans. Now Britney is poised to strengthen her position as a pop singer and successful, well-loved performer. Britney attributes her wonderful success to her family and her faith in God. While she is working on her singing career she is working hard to support all if the kids that look up to her!
